TV Time and TVGO both deal with what you watch, but they solve opposite problems. TV Time, owned by Whip Media, was a tracker: a diary of episodes watched, ratings and watchlists. It shut down on July 15, 2026. TVGO is a TV remote app for iPhone and Android with a live TV guide and reminders built in: it is about what is on next and getting it on screen. This comparison sets the two side by side, explains where each one wins, and is honest about what TVGO does not replace. If you mainly want a new home for your TV Time history, our list of TV Time alternatives covers the trackers that can import your export.

Where TV Time Was Stronger
TV Time built its following on tracking, and that is the job it did best. You could mark episodes as watched, see your progress through a series, rate shows and keep a long history of everything you had seen. For people who like a record of their viewing, that history was the point.
TVGO does not do any of that. It does not log episodes or keep ratings, and it cannot import your TV Time export. If the history is what you miss, a tracker such as Trakt, Hobi or Simkl is the right replacement, and several of them can read the export ZIP you saved before the shutdown. That is a genuine trade-off, not a gap TVGO is about to fill, so it is worth deciding which side of TV Time you actually used before you switch.
